The All Japan Hanami

Just because we’re locked inside (or being heavily advised to do so) doesn’t mean that we’re not allowed to celebrate the coming of spring.. it is still coming! So we're bringing the cherry blossoms to you. No matter where you are in the world, you can be a part of this cherry blossom celebration!

Usually right about now Japan is buzzing with people, all wanting to see Japan’s cherry blossoms (sakura), but unfortunately because of lockdowns and safe distancing precautions a lot of you have had to cancel or postpone your trips.  For those of us living here already, a lot of the festivals and events have been cancelled entirely. With the recent ‘state of emergency’ updates in some of the biggest prefectures in the country, it’s looking like there won’t be many outdoor spring picnics, hanami, and/or the great spring happiness that we’re all used to after a long winter..

So we’re bringing the cherry blossoms to you!

Will you take part in the first All Japan Hanami?  Whether you’re in Japan or not, let’s make this spring extra special by having a global ‘hanami’ party, all connected by our sakura.  No matter where you are in the world, you can be a part of this cherry blossom celebration & bring that happy spring spirit to your neighbourhood.

How to join the party:

All you need to do is download & color in this cherry blossom, or make your own, and stick it in a window facing the street so that everyone can see it!
